Questions and Answers
What are the best ways to assure good customer input to the Strategic Planning process?
In general, direct participation by customers in the planning meetings is discouraged due to the variety of topics and the sensitive nature of much of the discussion. However, you may wish to invite a key customer or distributor to a specific portion of a planning meeting where their direct input could be valuable. There is also significant opportunity during the outside research portion of the process to seek customer input regarding many of the questions on the External Analysis and Assumptions worksheets. Last, but not least, you should conduct a brief customer satisfaction survey to understand what your customers value highly and how they rate you as to your ability to satisfy those values.
